Meet Tokyo 2020 Olympics Animē-zing Ambassadors

Japan will never be Japan if it isn't for some of its most popular contributions to the world-- anime and manga. And what a better way to represent the Tokyo Olympics 2020 but to use them as ambassadors of the biggest quadrennial sporting event.

Popular Japanese anime characters were shown in a video teaser led by the iconic Son Goku (Dragon Ball Z), Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece) and Uzumaki Naruto (Naruto).

Completing the roster are Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon), Astro Boy (Astro Boy), Cure Miracle and Cure Magical (Maho Girls PreCure!), Jibanyan (Yo-kai Watch) and the ever naughty Shin-chan (Crayon Shin-chan).

Aiming for a younger audience, the Olympic committee is hoping to bring everyone together for this edition.

Merchandise for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics which will be held from July 24 to August 9 and August 25 to September 6 are available here.
